A bit of rain hasn’t ever hurt anyone has it? but when planning a alternative wedding in the uk, you better be prepared for it – no matter what time of year.
When Hacker a alternative Wedding Photographer woke up in Chester to the sound of heavy rain ahead of an outdoor wedding at Ness Botanic Gardens, he knew it was time to pull out the stops. “Hiring a professional wedding photographer means they will adapt to whatever conditions are thrown at them to make sure you still get amazing wedding photos.” Hacker explains.
So after an entertaining breakfast with his Air B n B host talking about conspiracy theories, Hacker headed off a couple of hours early to scout out some alternative locations where the ground might not be so sodden.
Shreena – dressed in a bright sari, and Aaron – dressed in a suit he’d tailored himself , tied the knot under a thatched gazebo. Despite the early downpour, the rain held off for the ceremony but the stubborn grey clouds lingered.
“The dull light meant it was too dark for me to capture Shreena and Aaron from outside the gazebo so I had to join them inside – perhaps the closest I’ve ever got to a couple.” laughs Hacker.
He also chuckled when he upset the wedding organiser by asking her to get out of the shots. “She told me I was terribly rude – but I told her I could be ruder than that.” Hacker says.
The evening entertainment was a Silent Disco – entertaining not just for the guests but also for the staff working, watching them stumble around the dance floor and sing at the top of their voices, each in their own little silent disco world.
There was no golden hour – the last hour of sunshine as the sun sets, but Hacker a alternative Wedding Photographer had yet another back up plan.
“I brought along some powerful flashes which we used to shoot the couple at dusk around Ness Botanic Gardens, by which time had dried up.” he tells us. “The result was striking, edgy shots that show despite a wet, grey day a professional wedding photographer will make sure you get amazing wedding photos.”
