Berwick Lodge might have been the same venue Hacker last shot a wedding at just a fortnight before, but Mary and Tony’s quirky wedding had a totally different vibe.
But the morning of the wedding wasn’t without its nerves. It was Tonys job to look after all three children while Mary got ready. “He was so worried the kids would mess up their outfits, they were in their pants right up until the very last minute.” Bristol quirky & alternative wedding photographer Hacker explains.
Later, when Best Man Leon got up for his speech, the teenager began by revealing he was doing it in return for being given Grand Theft Auto V.
The couple’s relaxed attitude towards their wedding meant they weren’t afraid to go off piste when it came to their couple shots.
“As I’ve got quite a few weddings at Berwick Lodge this summer I want to give them all a different style.” says Hacker.
The night before Mary and Tony’s wedding he had a scout around on Google street view and spotted a high street near the venue which would be a brilliant location for their shots.
He continues: “I knew it would be a great place to head with them, full of lots of interesting characters. You can get away with a lot more when you have a bride and groom with you – people don’t mind having their portrait taken. Plus, the couple are more at ease with their photos because they’re interacting with people and not so focussed on having to pose.”
“But we’re not so sure Jimmy Savile is dead.”
